Our American medical system is a mess! This is not a surprise to any patients who have tried to get all their questions answered in their doctor’s office, tried to get the referral they wanted from their primary care provider, or tried to plan for a hospital stay. What is a patient to do?
You need to become your own patient advocate. You can do this, but you need to gain a combination of knowledge and skill to be successful. This web site is devoted to providing you access to some of this information.
This site includes a question and answer page where you can e-mail your questions to me. I have also written a book intended to teach people how to be their own medical advocates. Information about this book is available from this site.
